Chinese Ambassador handed over Donation to Bangladesh Foreign Secretary for Savar Victims
 

On 2nd of May, H.E. Mr. Li Jun, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, on behalf of all members of the Chinese Embassy, handed over a donation of TK 5 lakh to H.E Mr. Md. Shahidul Haque, Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh, for the victims and their families after a building collapsed in Savar, Dhaka on April 24th , causing great causalities and property loss.

Ambassador Li expressed his condolence and sympathy to the victims and their families and said "China and Bangladesh enjoy brotherly friendship and we share the deep sorrow with the Bangladesh people at this difficult time. Although this donation is not big in number, we hope that they can feel our full sympathy and support and we believe that the people of Bangladesh will succeed in overcoming the current difficulties." Mr. Haque expressed his appreciation. The above-mentioned donation was raised by the Chinese Embassy staffs from their own salaries.

After the Rana Plaza incident, H.E. Mr. Li Keqiang, Premier of the Chinese Government, and H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, have respectively sent their messages of condolences to the Hon'able Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Hon'able Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni.
