On Oct. 20th 2008, at the invitation of Commandant Lieut. Gen. Md. Aminul Karim, Chinese Ambassador H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian gave a lecture on “Join Hands for Common Prosperity and Harmonious World --- China’s Foreign Policy” in Bangladesh National Defence College (NDC).

    Ambassador Zheng explained China’s Foreign Policy and introduced the development of China’s relationship with South Asian Countries. He said while striving for the nation’s progress, people’s richness and social harmony, China stands ready to share the growth experience with the developing countries to realize common prosperity and development. China and Bangladesh are close neighbors. To expand and deepen Sino-Bangladesh traditional friendship is China’s established policy. China is willing to promote the Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation with concerted efforts from Bangladesh.

    Commandant Lieut. Gen. Karim expressed gratitude for Ambassador Zheng lecturing in NDC. He spoke highly of China’s independent and peaceful policy and China’s remarkable achievements since its opening up and reform. He said the friendship between China and Bangladesh dated back to ancient times. China is Bangladesh’s trusted friend and partner. Bangladesh is ready to bring the cooperation with China to a new level with China’s joint efforts.
