On March 17 2008 Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh hosted an Olympic Photo Exhibition "Beijing Welcomes You" at Bangladesh Art Academy. Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Zheng Qingdian attended the ceremony and made a welcome speech. Special Assistant to Chief Adviser of Bangladesh Caretaker Government, Mr. Mahbub Jamil, other officials from Bangladesh government and Olympic Association and eminent members from all walks of life attended the ceremony.

    In his speech, Ambassador Zheng said that since it embarked on the path of reform and opening-up 30 years ago, China has made remarkable achievements in the fields of politics, economics, society, culture, especially sports industry. The Chinese government and its people are fully engaged in the preparatory work for the coming 2008 Olympics and Beijing will welcome guests and athletes from all over the world with a new look. He believes that Bangladesh friends will have a better understanding of Beijing Olympic Games through these photos.

    Mr. Jamil said China and Bangladesh enjoy a time-honored friendship. Bangladesh people fully support Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He expressed confidence that Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be an unprecedented gala in Olympic history, and wished a great success if it.

    Titled "Beijing Welcomes You", the Photo Exhibition gathered 60 pictures to illustrate Beijing's history, culture, Olympic constructions and the whole nation's involvement from various perspectives. The visitors lauded on China's fast development and great changes made by Chinese people and looked forward to seeing modern and beautiful China with their own eyes sometime in the future.
