Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh Celebrates Spring Festival with Bangladesh-China People's Friendship Association

 

    On February 2, 2008, Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and Bangladesh-China People's Friendship Association (BCPFA) jointly held a function to celebrate Chinese Spring Festival in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian, President of BCPFA, Mr. Amin, Secretary General of BCPFA, Mr. Sikder, diplomats from Chinese Embassy, overseas Chinese, members of China Chamber of Commerce, and friends from all walks of life in Bangladesh attended the program.

    In his speech, Ambassador Zheng said the increasingly close cultural contact between the two countries consolidates Sino-Bangladesh friendship which dates back to the ancient times. With concerted efforts from both sides, the bilateral relationship will surely be further promoted. Ambassador Zheng expressed gratitude for the long-term commitment made by BCPFA to enhance the contact and understanding between the two peoples.

    With a variety of activities including matches of the tug-of-war, soccer, volleyball and badminton, performances of singing, Lion Dance, Tibetan Dance and Twisting Yangko Dance, the atmosphere of the function was cordial, joyous and harmonious.

    Founded in 1986, with members of around 500, BCPFA is currently the biggest institute of its kind in Bangladesh that promote friendly ties with China.
