On Jan 20th 2008 Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr Zheng Qingdian and Madam Xu Min hosted Spring Festival Reception in the embassy. Over 200 guests including overseas Chinese, compatriots from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, representatives from Chinese enterprises and overseas students joined the function to celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year.

    In his speech, Ambassador Zheng said the just past year is a remarkable one for all Chinese. Under the leadership of Chinese Communist Party, holding high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the Chinese people have made new achievements in various fields. The success of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China demonstrates the way for future advancement. Ambassador Zheng praised the overseas Chinese and staff members of Chinese enterprises in Bangladesh for their efforts to promote China-Bangladesh friendly relationship and hoped they would continue making contributions to the deepening of bilateral relationship. The embassy is the home for all overseas Chinese and will go on providing them all necessary assistance.
