On November 28th 2007, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian called on General Moeen U Ahmed, ndc, psc, Chief of Army Staff and conveyed deep sympathy and sincere condolences for the cyclone-affected victims from Chinese government and conveyed the message that Chinese People's Liberation Army will provide 1000 MT rice, 500 MT flour and 100 MT edible oil for Bangladesh army. General Moeen expressed gratitude for the commitment made by Chinese side and spoke highly of the relationship between the two countries and the two armies. He said that China is Bangladesh's reliable friend, and is always ready to offer help and support whenever Bangladesh is confronting disasters and difficulties.

                             

    On the same day, Ambassador Zheng handed over the check of USD One Million of relief fund to Foreign Adviser Dr. Iftekhar Chowdhury.
