Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and BCPFA Celebrate the 58th Founding Anniversary of People's Republic of China

 

    On 9th September, Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and Bangladesh-China People's Friendship Association (BCPFA) jointly held a discussion meeting and cultural function in Bangladesh National Museum to celebrate the 58th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China. Over 200 people including diplomats from Chinese Embassy, members of BCPFA, Bangladesh government officials, former Bangladesh ambassadors to China, representatives from Chinese companies and journalists from local media attended the program. Chinese Ambassador, H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian was present at the function as the Chief Guest.

                                                              

    President of BCPFA, Mr. Anwarul Amin, Secretary General, Mr. S. A. Sikder, former state minister of foreign affairs, Mr. Abul Hasan Chowdhury and former ambassador to China, Mr. Kamal respectively delivered a speech. They expressed congratulations on the 58th founding anniversary of China, applauded the remarkable achievements made by China, reviewed the exchange and contact between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy, military and culture since the establishment of the diplomatic ties, expressed gratitude to Chinese government and people of the long-standing selfless assistance to Bangladesh, and hoped that the bilateral relation can be greatly enhanced under the concerted efforts of the two countries.

                           

    Ambassador Zheng appreciated BCPFA's long, whole-hearted commitment to the promotion of the friendship between the two countries. He said, Chinese comprehensive national power has been greatly improved and people's living standard steadily increased since the founding of China 58 years ago, especially since the adoption of opening up policy 29 years ago. The China-Bangladesh friendly and neighborly ties date back to the ancient times. Since the establishment of the diplomatic ties, the two countries have been good neighbors, partners and brothers with mutual understanding, mutual respect, mutual trust and mutual support. To further consolidate and develop China-Bangladesh friendship is the unswerving policy of Chinese government, and the Chinese side will continue its efforts to enhance the all-round cooperative partnership along with the work from Bangladeshi side.

                     

    Following the discussion meeting, a cultural function was held with the participation from both sides. An exhibition of China's achievements since its establishment was also held on the spot. Several mainstream Bangladeshi media including CHANAL-I, BOISHAKHI covered the function.
