Ambassador Zheng Qingdian Interviewed by Bangladeshi Media on China's National Climate Change Program (CNCCP)

   

    On June 11 Chinese Ambassador H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian was interviewed by the chief correspondent of UNB on China's National Climate Change Program (CNCCP) newly released by the Chinese government.

               

    Ambassador Zheng elaborated the background, objective and contents of CNCCP, and expressed that Chinese government attaches great importance to climate change, and labels it as a key issue concerning national economic and social development and the fundamental interests of the people. The newly released CNCCP illustrates the situation of Chinese climate change and efforts made in response to it. And it stipulates the guiding ideology, principle, objective and counter measures as well as China's need and stand in international cooperation. Ambassador indicated that CNCCP is the first national program made by a developing country in countering climate change and it will help the developing countries including Bangladesh to fully understand China's measures against climate change and its long-term objectives relating to it. China commits itself in strengthening exchange and cooperation against climate change for the overall, coordinated and sustainable development of all the economies and for the common advancement, prosperity and harmony of the whole world.

    The major media of Bangladesh will publish the interview along with the main points of CNCCP.
