On January 12, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Liu Jianchao answered question about recent political situations in Bangladesh. The reporter said that on the night of January 11, Bangladeshi President Iajuddin Ahmed announed to resign from the post of Chief Adviser to the caretaker government, declaring a state of emergency. What is Chinese government's comment on latest situation of Bangladesh?

Liu made the remark that as the friendly close neighbor of Bangladesh, China is very much concerned about the development of Bangladeshi situation, earnestly expecting the stakeholders involved will, in prior consideration of the interst of the country and its people, appropriatelly deal with the disagrement to safeguard pecace, stability and development of the country.
