Fudan Team Wins the Championship in ACM-ICPC 2004 Asia Regional Dhaka Site

      In early October, the world's largest programming competition ACM-ICPC 2004 Asia Regional Dhaka Site event hosted by the Association for Computing Machinery witnessed its consummation. Some 96 teams participated in the event from over 40 universities from Bangladesh, China,India and Singapore. The Fudan University team, composed by Fang Lujun, Shen Yi and Sheng Cheng, three freshmen of the Institute of Information Science and Technology have last won the championship with the guidance from their coaches named Wu Yonghui and Xu Hong. Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology(BUET) became second. The National University of Singapore and North South University(NSU) got the third and forth positions respectively.

      ACM-ICPC programming competition is an event of international significance in programming field. It has gained widely acclaimed reputations around the globe, particularly in the scientific research institutions and universities of the developing countries, for promoting the programming advancement, popularize the most modern technology concept and explore the potential talents. China has been proactively participating the event and realized remarkable achievements.
