Q: According to media reports, Japanese Foreign Minister Okada Katsuya said on March 16 that Japan enjoyed sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands when asked about China implementing the Law on Island Protection that lists the Diaoyu Islands among the subjects of protection. What's China's position on that?

A: The Diaoyu Islands and its adjacent islets have been China's inalienable territory since ancient times. China has indisputable sovereign rights over them.
